Who we are
Pip is a parent planning tool built to help busy parents organize dates, RSVPs, and sign-up lists in one shareable link. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Pip is operated by Pip (the owner of this site), based in California. For questions, contact us at Info@yaypip.com.
What we collect
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, an optional phone number, and whether you opted in to product and marketing email.
- Pip and event data: The Pips, date polls, sign-up lists, RSVPs, passcodes, privacy settings, reminder settings, and details you create or respond to.
- Responses: Names, selections, headcounts, and any notes submitted by guests when they respond to a Pip. Guests can respond without an account, and we store the contact details they choose to share so organizers can follow up.
- Calendar availability: If you connect a calendar, we read the private feed link you paste so we can flag dates that clash with events already on your calendar. Those conflicts are shown only to you and are not shared with guests.
- Billing information: If you subscribe to Pip Plus, our payment processor handles your card details. We never see or store full card numbers — we keep only the subscription status and identifiers needed to manage your plan.
- Usage data: We may collect anonymous usage data, such as page views, clicks, and which landing page brought you to Pip, to improve the app.
- Contact list entries: If you add yourself to a contact list, we store the details you enter and only the phone number or email you explicitly choose to share. Entries are visible to the list's organizer and to members of that group whose own entry the organizer has approved — nobody else, and never as a public page. You can edit or delete your entry from the same link at any time.
- Cookies: We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to support analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve Pip and its features.
- Send event email such as invitations, date-lock announcements, response alerts, reminders, and day-before recaps.
- Flag calendar conflicts for you while you build a date poll.
- Manage Pip Plus subscriptions, receipts, and plan changes.
- Keep your account secure and authenticate you.
- Send marketing emails or product updates, only if you opt in.
- Analyze usage trends so we can make the app better for parents.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us run Pip, and only as much as they need:
- Our cloud database and authentication provider, for secure hosting, sign-in, and storage.
- Brevo for sending Pip's email — invitations, announcements, reminders, and any updates you opted in to.
- Stripe for processing Pip Plus payments and subscriptions.
- Google if you choose to sign in with Google, or if you connect a Google Calendar feed.
- Analytics tools, including Google Tag Manager, to understand anonymous usage.
Pip does not send text messages. If you add a phone number, it is stored on your profile for your own reference and organizer follow-up — we will not text your guests for you.
Your privacy controls
Pips are private by default. You choose whether a Pip is private-link, passcode protected, or fully public, whether results are visible to guests, and which parts open when. Guest answers on a private Pip are visible only to you and the people taking part. You can disconnect a calendar feed, turn reminder and response email off, unsubscribe from marketing email at any time, and delete your Pips and account data whenever you like. If you need help removing data, email us at Info@yaypip.com.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete an event or your account, we remove associated data within a reasonable time, unless we are required to keep it for legal or security purposes.
Children's privacy
Pip is intended for parents and adults organizing events. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, email Info@yaypip.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and update the effective date. Continuing to use Pip after changes means you accept the updated policy.
